How to realize photocuring technology

Photocuring Technology is an advanced technology that uses ultraviolet light (UV) or visible light to trigger chemical reaction of specific materials, so as to realize rapid curing of materials. This technology is widely used in 3D printing, printing, coating, dental restoration, electronic packaging and other fields. Because of its advantages of high efficiency, environmental protection and energy saving, it is favored by more and more industries.

The realization of photo-curing technology mainly depends on three core elements: photo-curing resin, photoinitiator and light source.

First of all, photocurable resin is the base material of the whole system. This kind of resin is usually oligomer or monomer with polymerizable active groups, such as acrylate, epoxy group and so on. Under illumination, these groups can cross-link quickly and form a three-dimensional network structure, thus realizing the transformation of materials from liquid to solid.

Secondly, photoinitiator is the key to realize photocuring reaction. It can absorb light energy and produce free radicals or cations, thus initiating the polymerization of active groups in the resin. According to the different initiation mechanism, photoinitiators can be divided into free radical type and cationic type. Free radical type is suitable for most acrylate systems, while cationic type is mostly used for epoxy resin systems.
  Finally, the choice of light source determines the efficiency and quality of light curing. At present, commonly used light sources include ultraviolet lamp, LED ultraviolet light source, laser and so on. The photo-curing process generally includes the following steps: firstly, the photo-curing resin is evenly mixed with an appropriate amount of photoinitiator; Then, coating or molding the mixed material on the target substrate; Next, the material is irradiated by a light source with a specific wavelength; Photoinitiator generates active substances after absorbing light energy, which initiates the polymerization and crosslinking reaction of resin; Finally, curing is completed in a few seconds to tens of seconds, forming a stable solid material.
  Compared with traditional thermal curing or natural drying, photo-curing technology has obvious advantages.
