Hand-paste molding is one of the most traditional composite molding processes, which is mainly used for the manufacture of FRP and other products. The basic step is to lay the reinforced material (such as glass fiber cloth) on the mold, then manually brush the resin to make it fully soak the fiber, and then cure and shape it. This method has the advantages of low equipment investment and simple operation, but the production efficiency is low, and the product quality is greatly affected by manual operation, so it is suitable for the production of small batches or large components.

2. Molding method

Compression molding is a method of putting prepreg into a mold and pressing it at a certain temperature and pressure. This method is suitable for thermosetting and thermoplastic composites. Its advantages are high dimensional accuracy, good surface quality and high production efficiency, and it is suitable for mass production of small or medium-sized products, such as automobile parts and electronic housings.

3. Winding forming method

Winding forming is mainly used to manufacture cylindrical or rotating structures (such as pressure vessels, pipelines, etc.). In this method, the continuous fiber impregnated with resin is wound on the mandrel according to a certain angle and law, and then cured and demoulded to obtain the finished product. Winding molding can give full play to the strength advantages of fibers and is suitable for the manufacture of high-performance structural parts.

4. RTM process
  RTM is a closed mold forming process, in which the dry fiber preform is first put into a closed mold, and then resin is injected and infiltrated and cured under pressure. This method is suitable for the manufacture of products with complex shapes. 5. Vacuum-assisted resin infusion (VARI)

VARI is a low-cost, environmentally-friendly composite molding technology, which is suitable for the manufacture of large-scale structural parts such as wind blades and ships. In this method, the resin permeates the fiber preform through vacuum negative pressure, thus completing the composite process. Its advantages are simple operation and low cost, and it can reduce bubble defects and improve product quality.
